CFP: Jewish Youth and Social Change 0 A. Gonzalez This panel seeks to bring together scholars who engage the question of Jewish youth as active participants in social change during the twentieth century. By looking at the complex role of these actors across cultural, religious, and geographic realms, this panel will explore some of the following questions: How have individual youth or youth movements mobilized in response to specific historical moments? In what ways have notions of Jewishness intersected with the desire for social change? Topics that address largely unstudied areas with respect to geography, gender, and points of overlap between religious and political life are especially welcome. My own paper will consider the responses of female Sephardic orphans to problems of citizenship during the twentieth century within the Mediterranean littoral. Please send a C.V. and an abstract of no more than 350 words by April 15 to allyson.gonzalez@yale.edu. Allyson Gonzalez Yale University
